Waste Control Monitor

Waste Control Monitor

In order to avoid that radioactive waste, for example from controlled areas, is mixed or swapped with non-radioactive waste in daily routine, it is necessary to have all waste coming from controlled areas checked by a measuring system.

In the waste control monitor, waste bags or containers are checked from 4 sides simultaneously with high-sensitive NaI-scintillation detectors. The waste control monitor is very easy to operate.

Release Counter for activity measurement and controlled disposal of radioactive material

Release Counter for activity measurement and controlled disposal of radioactive material

If clean or slightly contaminated material/tools or waste hast to leave the controlled area, a specific measurement and release is required.

Depending on the field of application, the release counter can be equipped with various detectors. The measuring object is checked on all sides by detectors in 4-π geometry.
A PC-based measuring and evaluation system (industry-PC) with user-specific software supports the user during measurement. An extensive data administration programme offers an overview of all stocked and released containers.

Counter for dose rate measurement on 200/400 liter drums

Measuring system for dose rate measurement of 200 / 400 liter drums

For measurement and control of – for example – the storage and transport conditions, the drum surface is checked simultaneously by 6 dose rate detectors and the drum’s dose rate profile is calculated. The waste drum is moved around on a turntable to pass the detectors and is weighed at the same time. The measuring data are processed in a PC-system.

Release Counter for activity control of objects used in controlled areas (tools, test instruments, documents)

The counter is shielded on all sides by 30 mm low-activity lead and contains 6 large-area γ-plastic scintillation detectors. Each detector has an active surface of approx. 50 x 50 cm. With a measuring time of 30 seconds (BG-measuring time 300 seconds), a detection limit of < 50 Bq is reached, based on Co-60 in the centre of the measuring chamber.

The stainless steel measuring chamber has an inner space of approx. 50 x 50 x 60 cm. The detectors are protected by a safety bar / distance holder.
